Founded in 1992, Diana Kellogg Architects is a New York City–based design studio working at the intersection of climate adaptation, material systems, and socio-spatial equity. Originally established as a high-end residential practice, the studio has evolved into a research-driven firm focused on cultural, nonprofit, and community-centered projects in arid and resource-constrained environments.

The practice explores issues of desertification, passive environmental control, water management, and low-carbon construction through projects and field-based research across India, Morocco, and Nepal. By integrating localized materials, vernacular building traditions, and thermal massing strategies, the firm develops architecture that reduces energy dependence while strengthening environmental resilience.

Projects are conceived as applied research platforms that combine observational and data-driven methods to evaluate cooling performance, resource efficiency, and long-term sustainability. Central to the studio’s philosophy is the relationship between ecological constraints and cultural form, examining how architecture can mediate between environmental systems and social impact.

Recent work includes the GYAAN Center in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, featuring the Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls' School, an exhibition space, and a women’s cooperative. The project demonstrates how climate-responsive design and community participation can support education, cultural continuity, and gender equity.
