Textile Artists Showroom and Studio
Soho, NY
This renovation transformed a former synagogue and artist’s studio into a collaborative showroom and workspace for a textile artist. The design introduced oversized skylights, exposed brick walls, and a landscaped roof deck to create an open, light-filled environment that highlights the artist’s carpets, wall hangings, and textile works. Natural materials and minimal interiors were used to create a calm and immersive atmosphere inspired by the tactile quality of the artwork itself. The project also incorporated functional studio spaces, storage, and worktables while preserving elements of the building’s history, including the original mikveh, which remains as a viewing space for visiting collectors.
